MacroMavens provides macroeconomic research and commentary to the institutional investment community. The firm was established, in February 2002, by Stephanie Pomboy who spent the prior 11 years working with Ed Hyman and Nancy Lazar at ISI Group.

Having earned her Bachelors Degree in economics from Dartmouth College, Stephanie joined the economic research team at Cyrus J. Lawrence, then-headed by Ed Hyman. In 1991, the team left to establish ISI Group, an independent economic research firm. During her tenure at ISI, Stephanie worked closely with the largest and most sophisticated institutions, providing timely economic insight and analysis.

MacroMavens furthers these endeavors in striving to identify major economic trends early while avoiding the typical overemphasis on short-term swings. The work is frequently cited in industry publications including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, CBS MarketWatch, and Bloomberg. Stephanie was also the focus of an interview in the Feb.7, 2005 issue of Barron’s, titled “Handling the Truth”.

Current clients of MacroMavens include the largest U.S. mutual funds, investment management firms, and leading global hedge funds. The firm provides its services, from passive receipt of weekly economic commentary, to customized research and consulting, in exchange for soft dollar payments.
